Corporate Overview

Inscape is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative solutions for today’s constantly evolving workplace, offering a range of award winning products, including systems furniture, filing and storage, desking, casegoods and architectural products. Inscape’s products are designed to integrate together and create unique product solutions to meet the needs of today’s multi-generational workforce.

Founded as Office Specialty™ in 1888 in Rochester, New York, the company forged an early reputation for reliable, high quality filing and storage products. Expanding its offerings while maintaining top quality design and manufacturing standards, Office Specialty grew steadily throughout the 20^th century before becoming a public corporation in 1997 (TSX: INQ) and officially adopting the name Inscape in 1999.

For over 120 years, we have been incorporating innovative and world class design engineering principles to the development of our products. Our portfolio of products has a common contemporary aesthetic and is designed to integrate together. Ingrained into Inscape’s design philosophy is what we call “Customer Centered Innovation”. It simply means that product designed today fits the one you bought yesterday and the one you might buy from us tomorrow so you can minimize ongoing investment even as business needs change.

A leader in introducing innovative solutions, Inscape was the first to introduce rolodex files, vertical files, true lay-in capability in panels and the 1½” solution which adds 20% capacity to storage units. Utilizing a small kit of parts, our products can be easily reconfigured to accommodate evolving needs and work styles that minimize the need for inventory management.

Our proven track record of installations at large and small corporations includes Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Lockheed Martin, Willis Insurance, American Family Insurance, University of Colorado, Healthways, Maple Leaf Foods, Echostar and AOL. Noteworthy installations include over 41 miles of movable walls at The Pentagon, the largest movable wall installation in North America and the installation of 250 workstations a week for 23 consecutive weeks at Best Buy.

Inscape’s constant pursuit of design excellence includes commitment to environmental protection and preservation, demonstrated by Inscape System, Planna, Storwal, Freeform, Addwall, Inform, Reform and Office Specialty Filing and Storage having earned official GREENGUARD certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Office Specialty Filing and Storage products are also Cradle to Cradle and level^® certified. Inscape’s Falconer, New York facility, constructed on previously contaminated land, was New York State’s first successful conversion of a brownfield site into a modern manufacturing complex.
